welcome to a skeleton's bookshelf!
LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
I am based in British Columbia, Canada. I study at the University of Victoria which stands on the traditional territory of the WS’ANEC’ (Saanich), lÉ™k̓ʷəŋən (Songhees), Wyomilth (Esquimalt) peoples of the Coast Salish Nation. During the summers, I work as a barber in Smithers, BC, the unceded territory of the Gidimt’en-Bear Wolf Clan of the Witsuwit’en Nation.
ABOUT ME
The ocean or river, depending on where I am, is my favourite place to be. I love writing poetry and criticism. Inspiration finds me through literature with unreliable narrators, Romantic literature, Latin American woman artists, and really good satire! This blog is mostly devoted to literary reviews, close readings, or light criticism. I have many projects afoot, though. Also, most of the photos on this site are original, and I retain copyright.
PROJECTS
I have a few academic projects that I am working on, which you can check out in the Academic Gallery. The copyright of these projects are listed on this site. I have also been submitting my poetry to literary magazines, so those (as well as unpublished/self-published works) will show up in the Creative Gallery. I retain copyright for all creative works that I post on this site (unless otherwise stated).
Cheers,
Alexandria Lorién
